What is AssetForge?

AssetForge is a QR asset management app that replaces paper-based inspection forms, fault sheets and workshop logs. It runs locally on a Windows PC and serves the interface to phones on your Wi-Fi.

Is it cloud software?

No. AssetForge is local-first. Your data stays on your hardware. The daily workflow is built around local workshop reliability — no internet required on the floor.

Can I use it on phones?

Yes. The mobile interface is for scanning QR codes, viewing assets, completing checks, reporting faults, uploading photos and checking basic history.

Why are reports desktop-only?

Reports, filters, exports and admin controls are for laptop or desktop users. The mobile interface stays clean for workers who only need the scan / check / report flow.

Can fault photos be viewed later?

Yes. Fault photos stay attached to the asset and log entry. They appear in detailed views and selected report exports.

What label types does it support?

Normal QR asset tags, checklist labels and Do Not Operate tags for unsafe or locked-out equipment. Export in PNG, PDF, SVG or DXF.

Can I brand reports and labels?

Yes. Company name, logo, colours and contact details appear on tags, report headers and footers.

Can employees break admin settings?

No. Admin and reporting functions stay restricted. Employee mobile tools only show safe scan and record actions.

How do I get updates?

New versions are posted to the downloads page. Download the latest installer and run it over the existing install.
